Casa de Alegria - The Setting
Casa de Alegría is a quiet mountain setting in the Marina Alta region of Spain where the in-person work of Awakening Within takes place.
The space was created to support reflection, embodied practice, and time away from the pace of everyday life. Surrounded by open landscape, mountain air, and Mediterranean light, it offers a simple and grounded environment in which participants can step back from routine and engage more fully with their own process.
I Am Awakening — Immersions and Residency Integrations are hosted here throughout the year.
Participants stay in a private self-contained apartment located on the property.
With approximately 31m² of indoor living space, a separate entrance, and nearby on street parking, the apartment provides a comfortable and private base during your stay.
The space includes:
• a fully equipped kitchen with induction hob, steamer, air fryer, toaster, kettle and coffee machine
• bathroom with shower and eco toiletries
• flexible sleeping arrangements with either Super King or Twin beds
• lounge and small workspace area within the large bedroom
• air conditioning, heating and Wi-Fi
• linen, bedding, towels and beach towels are provided and renewed weekly.
The apartment supports a self-catered rhythm, allowing participants to maintain independence during their stay.
The Apartment
The Garden & Outdoor Spaces
The grounds at Casa de Alegría offer several outdoor areas for rest, reflection, and time in nature.
Participants have access to:
• garden seating areas, sun loungers and outdoor sofas
• seasonal organic fruit and herbs from the garden when available
• an outdoor solar shower
The garden provides a quiet place to sit, read, or simply spend time outside between practices.
The setting encourages a simple rhythm of living during I Am Awakening Immersion or Residency Integrations.
Participants may spend time:
• walking in the surrounding area
• resting by the pool
• maintaining personal practice
• preparing meals in the apartment or outdoor kitchen
• spending quiet time in the garden.
Everyday Living
Embodied practices take place in the small on-site studio at Casa de Alegría.
The studio is designed to support quiet and attentive practice in a calm environment. Class sizes are intentionally small for up to 6 participants depending on the style of class, allowing space for individual attention and a steady, unhurried pace.
Mats and practice props are provided.
The studio is equipped with air conditioning for the summer months and underfloor heating during winter, allowing the space to remain comfortable throughout the year.
Participants staying for Immersion or Residency may practice here as part of the structured work or join scheduled group classes when available.

The swimming pool offers a quiet place to cool down, rest, or spend time outdoors between practices or daily activities.

Outdoor Gym
A shaded outdoor gym space is located in the garden and available for those wishing to maintain additional physical movement during their stay.
Equipment includes a spin bike, rowing machine, cross trainer, pull-up bar station, weight bench, free weights, and a punch bag.

Outdoor Kitchen & BBQ
An outdoor kitchen and barbecue area is available within the garden for preparing simple meals and enjoying outdoor living.
The swimming pool, outdoor gym and outdoor kitchen is used respectfully by both guests and hosts for I Am Awakening Immersion or Residency Integrations, unless private access has been arranged in advance.

Laundry
Laundry facilities are available on site for participants staying at Casa de Alegría.
A washing machine and tumble dryer can be used during your stay, and eco-friendly laundry detergent is provided. Use of the laundry facilities operates on a small honesty-basis donation, allowing guests to contribute toward utilities if they choose to use the machines.
This arrangement keeps the environment simple and practical while avoiding additional charges.

The surrounding Marina Alta region is well known for its varied mountain and coastal routes, and cyclists occasionally choose Casa de Alegría as a quiet base from which to explore the area.

This supports the overall intention of the space as a place for wellbeing, rest, and clear air within the natural surroundings of the mountain setting.

Eco-Friendly Amenities
A number of small choices within the apartment reflect a preference for simple, environmentally conscious living.
Eco-friendly soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and toilet paper are provided for your stay. Many of the everyday cleaning products used at Casa de Alegría are homemade by Caroline, including natural soap, sink cleaner, and anti-bacterial spray.
These small practices are part of an ongoing commitment to reducing unnecessary chemicals and encouraging a more conscious relationship with the products used in daily life. The aim is not perfection, but a gradual movement toward more natural and sustainable living wherever possible.
Location
Casa de Alegría is located on Monte Pedreguer in the Marina Alta region of the North Costa Blanca, Spain.
The area is known for its Mediterranean landscape, combining mountain terrain with nearby coastline. The surrounding region includes the coastal towns of Dénia, Jávea and Moraira, offering access to beaches, marinas, and walking routes within the mountains.
The Marina Alta is also known for its microclimate, often described as one of the healthiest climates in Europe, with more than 300 days of sunshine throughout the year and protection from northern winds provided by the surrounding mountain ranges.
Arrival and Transfers
Airport transfers from Alicante (ALC) or Valencia (VLC) are included for participants attending an I Am Awakening Immersion and Residency Intergration both are located approximately one hour from Casa de Alegría.
For those arriving by sea, the Port of Dénia offers ferry connections to Ibiza, Mallorca and Formentera, and nearby marinas are located in Dénia, Jávea and Moraira.
By road, Casa de Alegría is easily accessible from the AP-7 motorway and the N332 national road, with car hire available at airports, train stations and ports.
